AVG Won ‘t Uninstall – Error Code: 0xC007064C

Hello,

I am using the 2012 addition of AVG anti-virus, but it has become corrupted and stopped working. It will not uninstall every time I try to uninstall AVG.

The following message appear:  (Severity: Error, Error code:0xC007064C, Error message: The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

Additional message: An unexpected runtime error occurred. Content: Initialization).

I have also attempted to repair and reinstall but still, nothing. I even used the help section on the website and followed all given instructions but still no joy.

Any ideas how I can solve this??

Hello Carlton Brinkley, I have read your query.

 

To get rid of your previous installation, without getting this error do the following:

 

·         Start your computer and when Windows Splash Screen appears, hit Function key 8 (F8), you will be given the option to start your PC in Safe Mode. Do so, and after login right click on Start Menu and select Explore. Go to Program Files from list and then to AVG Folder. Open AVG Folder and delete any data which you can. If you are not able to delete some files, then open task manager and stop any process related to AVG, then you will be able to delete everything from AVG Folder. Restart your PC in normal mode, now you will not encounter this error and can reinstall any antivirus of your choice.

·         Simply stop AVG services running on your PC. To stop services click on Start Menu and open Run. Type “services.msc” into Run. Services running on your PC will be shown, stop AVG services. Now and any process running related to AVG, from task manager. It may resolve your problem

·         You can try using AVG Remover tool, as it is developed for this specific purpose. Here is the download link https://www.avg.com/en-ww/utilities

Hi,

These kind of problem can be solved using some professional un-installer. You need to use the best un-installer like Revo Un-installer. You will find that sometimes were are not able to remove some software from the control panel. This is because some files conflicts. In that case, Revo Un-installer can solve the problem. Thus, you will find the problem resolved if you run the Revo Un-installer. Hope this solves your problem.
