When is it recommended to use AVG scan in safe mode, and when under normal? How does this affect the performance of the AVG package?

AVG scan in safe mode or normal mode

When your system is infected with a nasty bug which wouldn't get detected acutely under normal scan, go for safe mode scan. All other processes are stalled to avoid interference. But, when AVG scanner is run in safe mode, most files are locked and remain unchecked. There are a few other scanning software equivalents such as SAS, Trend Micro PC-cillin, which run malicious software scans perfectly under safe mode, too.
