Hello trouble shooters,

I am in the critical situation, facing an unknown error. When I run the full scan in Avira Antivirus it went without any problem, No virus found. But all of sudden a pop up window appeared with an error. I am not aware of this error before, how to solve this error? I tried to trap the error, but I can’t. Help please. Thanks in advance.

Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

A comctl32.dll error message normally appears while installing certain programs, or even sometimes during the middle of running any application. It primarily cases by removal and corruption of the DLL file. It could be even caused by a problem in the registry.

Whatever happens you should not download comctl32.dll from any site as it could be very harmful.
Start Windows in Safe Mode. Check recycle bin and restore the DLL file, if found. Run your antivirus in safe mode and perform a thorough scan. Perform system restore in safe mode if the problem still continues. Perform a restart and verify. In many cases restart seems to have solved similar problems. Also, verify that your antivirus version is the latest one and compatible to the OS you are using.
