Bharati Airtel has been the leading Indian telecom service provider in India. But now it is said the high consumption users can enjoy the cheap rates for 4G services which is lower than the 3G services of the other competitors. But I wonder why are these rates suddenly cut down? Are Airtel’s 4G rates cheaper than 3G rates? Why?

The answer of your query is a big Yes. Airtel recently launches this 4G plan on almost every metro cities which is cheaper than the 3G tariff. As an example there is a plan in 3G in Airtel, that is 10GB 3G data with a price of 1499 INR. But that same data in 4G Airtel set the price with 999 INR.

Airtel is doing this by targeting the customers who use large volume of data and has 4G enabled mobile. Now in India a 4G enabled mobile is very costly, so it is assumed that this 4G plan will only get used by esteem customers and for them if 4G internet which has 4-5 times better speed then 3G is coming with cheaper price than 3G, then definitely customer will use and subscribe 4G offer instead of 3G.

Another reason is to compete with Reliance JIO Infocom who will launch reliance 4G LTE on next year and it is assumed by lead market analysts that there will be a price war can happen due to cheap price of reliance 4G LTE. To compete with Reliance 4G, Airtel basically launches this 4G plans.
