The Apple iPhone 5 phone comes in three different versions: the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5c, and the iPhone 5s. All these three versions have been discontinued and are no longer being manufactured. Here are the specifications for the Apple iPhone 5 version. The Apple iPhone 5 is a 4G Smartphone operating on 2G, 3G, and 4G network bands using GSM, CDMA, HSPA, EVDO, and LTE technologies.

It was unveiled to the public and released on September 2012. It measures 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 millimeters and weighs 112 grams. It uses nano-SIM card. It has LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 640 x 1136 pixels screen resolution. It supports multi-touch protected by Corning Gorilla Glass with oleophobic coating.

It ships with iOS 6 upgradable to iOS 10.1 powered by Apple A6 chipset, Dual Core 1.3 GHz Swift (ARM v7-based) processor, and PowerVR SGX 543MP3 (triple-core graphics) GPU. It doesn’t support microSD. It runs on 1 GB DDR2 RAM with internal storage available in the following capacities: 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB. The primary camera supports 8 megapixels with f/2.4, 33mm, LED flash, and autofocus.

The primary camera features panorama, 1/3.2″ sensor size, geo-tagging, 1.4 µm pixel size, touch focus, face detection, and HDR (photo). The primary camera can record video in 1080p at 30 fps. The secondary camera supports 1.2 megapixels with f/2.4, 35mm, and can record video in 720p at 30 fps with face detection and FaceTime over Wi-Fi or Cellular.

It has 3.5-millimeter jack with 16-bit/44.1kHz audio and active noise cancellation with dedicated mic support; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band and hotspot support; Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and LE support; GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support; and USB 2.0 reversible connector. It has built-in accelerometer, compass, gyro, and proximity sensors. The pre-installed Safari browser supports HTML5. Java is not supported.

It runs on non-removable 5.45 Wh Li-Po 1440 mAh battery with standby time up to 225 hours both on 2G and 3G. Talk time is up to 8 hours both on 2G and 3G. It is available in black/slate and white/silver colors and costs around 340 Euros or roughly around $365. This price should be a lot lower today.
