Amazon’s Kindle Fire will show ads too?

I own a Kindle Fire and I was wondering if it is true that Amazon are selling ad space on their Kindle Fire welcome screen? If it is  true then will it impact e-book prices and future Kindle units?

Amazon’s Kindle Fire will show ads too?

Hi

Amazon has been reported to sell adds on their Kindle Fire but as of today there has been no update yet. The report was last month but Amazon has not decided yet whether the ads will pop up on the purchased Kindle Fire or to the new devices. Amazon is still weighing the feedback of their customers if ever there will be a pop up on the welcome screen. Considering that it could be annoying to the users.

The plan of the new feature was that the ad will show up on every boot. You can advertise your album, product, service, and many more to the welcome screen. There will be an additional on the sponsored screensaver ads once the device will be shut down.

Reports say that Amazon is taking a loss in selling the Kindle Fire but they already have a 10.1” display to be released late this year. So they are studying on the effect and profits for selling ads with big projects in the future.
