Wassup Benjamin, A driver manager is a type of software that uses advanced technologies to update the PC with the latest drivers. It manages the drivers also to match with the latest version available and also to update to the latest type and definitions. 
The driver detective on the other hand is a software for making the downloading of the drivers and updating easy. The driver detective saves time and resolves any driver problems. The driver detective only simplifies the downloading and updating of the drivers rather than equipping with the latest drivers.
