Hello,

I came across an error message when I try to install the Adobe Flash Player in the windows operating system. I did not face this kind of error message in my experience. The error code is 1406.  How do I fix this problem? Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Please help. Thanks.

The installer is having trouble registering a file inside Windows Registry and having trouble so this error is appearing. It is possible when the application doesn’t have permission to edit the registry.

First, quit the installer. Right-click on the installer, select “Run as administrator”. This will give the program sufficient privilege to edit registry.

If you still face the issue, you have to take the ownership of the registry section.

Start “Registry Editor”. From Start menu, type “regedit” >> hit “Enter”. When the Registry Editor opens, browser for the registry section mentioned in the error message, take the ownership and run the setup again. Learn how to take the ownership of registry keys.

Try to install Adobe Flash Player by disabling your firewall and antivirus programs. They might be blocking the way to access registry.
