I have a 2011 MacBook Pro with OSx Mountain Lion.  I was browsing a certain website and suddenly "You need to install ActiveX" popped up.  I use Safari as my browser and I heard that ActiveX only works on IE.  Is ActiveX control mac 2011 possible in my MacBook Pro?

Hello Mr. Decker,

ActiveX is a programming application developed for the Windows PC. But Mac can also use Active X, but the download required different programming on Mac.

Simply because it's a different operating system.

1. Launch the internet browser on your Mac > Click on the download link provided in the Resources section below.
2. Click Download > Active X download begins ( It's not a very large program, so should not take much time)
3. Double click desktop icon to launch the installation.
4. The Active X will setup now, just follow the prompts.

To download ActiveX, please check the link.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you.
