With a quad core Tegra3 processor, Asus Transformer Pad 300 will be available in US on April 22nd. What is Tegra3 processor and what is the difference between a normal quad core processor and Tegra3 processor?

10.1 inch Asus Transformer Pad 300.

Tegra 3 is a processor designed for mobile devices. This is developed by the NVIDIA. This processor points to low-power consumption and performs well on playing audio and video. It incorporates the ARM architecture processor CPU or the Central Processing Unit, GPU or the Graphics Processing Unit, North and South bridge and the memory controller. Tegra 3 is considered as the very first super processor for mobile. 

And according to you, Tegra 3 works with Asus Transformer Pad 300, which simply means that it will work effectively with Tegra and best on playing media files.

The distinction between the normal quad-core processor and Tegra 3 is that, Tegra 3 composed of fifth companion core. Even if the entire cores are Cortex-A9s, this companion core is created with a different low power silicon method that utilizes low power on a low clock rate but it doesn't move to high clock rates.

Therefore it is limited for up to 500 MHz. There is also a unique reason to let the running mode to be easily and visibly transferred between the two cores. It aims to power down the entire normal cores on mobile phones and tablets and run the companion core using a moderate little power when on standby mode or when using the CPU. Based on NVIDIA, this is when user are playing media files.

Tegra do not consume too much power and can save the battery among other quad processor.

10.1 inch Asus Transformer Pad 300.

The ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T is a tablet that doesn’t offer support for GSM communication or any cellular connectivity. It was announced to the public on February 2012 and released on April 2012 measuring 263 x 180.8 x 9.9 millimeters and weighing 635 grams. This is a discontinued device and it doesn’t support a SIM card. It includes an optional mobile dock with standard QWERTY keyboard and trackpad.

It has IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 1280 x 800 pixels screen resolution. It supports multi-touch up to 10 fingers with ASUS Waveshare UI. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgradable to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30L chipset, 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Cortex-A9 processor, and ULP GeForce GPU. It supports microSD expandable up to 32 GB.

It runs on 1 GB RAM with internal storage available in 16 GB and 32 GB capacities. The primary camera supports 8 megapixels with AF featuring geo-tagging and supports 1080p video recording. The secondary camera supports 1.2 megapixels. It supports 3.5-millimeter jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with EDR support, GPS, and USB 2.0. It doesn’t have stereo FM radio.

It has built-in accelerometer, gyro, and compass sensors. The pre-installed web browser supports HTML with Adobe Flash support. It runs on non-removable 22 Wh Li-Po battery with talk time up to 10 hours via multimedia. It is available in Royal Blue, Iceberg White, and Torch Red colors.
