Hello,

I have installed the Oracle 10g software on my machine.

The installation process has been completed.

But I still having a problem using database. When I start SQL platform it requires username and password.

When I put the username and password, it gives invalid username and password.

However during installation I am giving the same username and password which I will enter to open the database but still I am facing error.

Please help me if someone knows about it.

I have installed Oracle XE. I build small database every day to practice from command prompt, but now I want to have more. I want to have a bigger database with a lot of different data to practice and make exercises. So, is possible to get a big data file from somewhere and upload to XE database?

Is there any one who can tell me that why I can’t log in to the Oracle SQL PLUS. environment.

I connect it using scott/tiger but I get the error “ORA12560: TNS-Protocol adapter error”.

I am trying to install Oracle 11g but oracle is asking from me for Configuration Assistant and I don’t know about it please provide me some guidelines about this problem. Also tell me what is the benefit of  dorectory?

Need your help. I am using Oracle 10g database. I have developed a script in which I have used UTL_FILE api to read data from a file. While running the script I am getting error like identifier 'UTL_FILE' must be declared. I am sure the directory "fileout"  and file "MYFILE"  is present in the database.  Please let me know the reason for this error and how to resolve this issue.
