Should you run the AD on your server or is it recommended that it runs on a different machine?  If it needs to be run on a different machine, are there any recommended OS’s that should run it? 

I want Server 2003 and then, let’s say, two clients.  Do I have to buy the server separately or does it come with the AD?

Can you tell me where I can find Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 network diagrams?

It seems to me that companies project different ideas of what should be displayed in each diagram.  I would also like to know if there is a manual or a book that provides clear uniform samples.

I have been assigned to handle a new network for a given time. There is a server with a NIC card installed on it and statically assigned on the 172.16.x.x subnet of the same network. The server will be used as a Digital Video Recorder where it is placed in a hotel that has a CCTV. It had a DVR recording software installed as well. When I try to use the software, I can’t see any feeds and then when I try to browse any camera, the server has no latency. The connection is not normal which will waste my time. I know that more ideas will be needed and to be analyzed first. So please help me. I will reply at my best and any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello to everyone! I have a private business and I need all kinds of data that will be accessed easily everywhere for permits.

I thought a data server will be directly needed for the desk; there are many video seminars for this but unfortunately I don’t know about this, and I need help and advices.

I only use 3 to 4 external hard drives wherein you can manage 10 terabytes of hard drives and it requires performance.

Is this safe and are there any hardware failures to this?

Do I have the extend my schema for the config manager after upgrading it or after upgrading the AD domain or functional level of the forest?

I would like to know if there any required domains or forest functional levels for the configuration of manager feature?  

Can this manager handle clients who are in another forest?

Can I import a PST from an organization or exchange group to an index?  I would also like to run a discovery search on the detached from the live mailboxes. 

Do you know any other products for archiving available on the market?  Please compare them to MS Exchange ’10.
