Hi. I am a first year student. I am interested in the software and its related fields. I want to know why does the error the certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed come up and how to correct it? Please reply ASAP. Thanks in advance.

The Certificate Is Not Trusted Because It Is Self-Signed Fix?

Hi. You generally get the message saying the certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed when the certificate has not been installed properly. If you get the self-signed error, then you will probably have to remove that certificate and in the place of this, put a certificate issued by the certificate authority. Also, you will have to install a trusted one reinstalled in the place of the self-signed authority for it to work properly. It might be due to the CA bundle not being installed along with the certificate.

You will also need to add the certificate to the list of the allowed service certificates for the certificate to work properly. It also may be due to the port number 443 being closed on the server. You will have to check the server settings and ask the host provider for help. You will need to comment virtual hosts in case you are trying to install a certificate using OpenSSL or ModSSL.
