Error installing Sims World Adventure

When trying to install the Sims World Adventures, I get this error "The Sims3 needs to be updated before this product can be installed. Setup will now attempt to update the Sims3. Do you want to continue?”

When I hit the Yes button, I get another error stating "Error with the Sims3 update. Setup is unable to continue." What should I do?

Error installing Sims World Adventure

Dear Maya,

It sounds like you have some modified content on your installation of the game! It does not allowed the update to 

run properly, because it detects some modified files. You must delete all modified files, but the only solution is to delete whole game.

First what you need is to create back up of your save game files. After that you need to uninstall the game. 

I don't know which OS you use, but i will explain how to uninstall the game on both OS!

it is similar to XP, just go to control panel, 

Click on Add or Remove…

Then find the game and click remove like on this pictures …

After you uninstall the game, you need to delete game folder…

C:Program FilesElectronic ArtsThe Sims 3   (check on which partition you install game, maybe it is not "C", it can be "D" etc.

Delete the folder which is located in My Documents…

DocumentsElectronic Arts The Sims 3

After you do that, restart your PC. After that, you can go ahead and install the title again and you should have no problems updating.

Error installing Sims World Adventure

I think the post above is right it is possible that you got a modified version of The Sims 3 installer. But sometimes modified versions of any game installers have illegal contents included in it to make it playable.

Make sure your computer is connected to the internet and the connection is good then try installing it again. If it still failed after selecting yes to update the game, I think you may need to get a different installer for this game.

The information in The Sims 3 World Adventures’ system requirements doesn’t include any information about connecting the computer to the internet during the installation or something.

It doesn’t tell that you need to have an internet connection to install it. This game can be played on Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Service Pack 1, and Windows 7.
