Error in Installing AVG 2011 edition

Hello there!

Before I tried to install the 2011 edition, I used AVG 9.0. When I began installing 2011 edition, the 9.0 edition was deleted. In the end, I could not setup 2011 edition. It showed me the following error message:

Setup error

Error code: 0xC0070643

Error message:General internal error.

Additional MESSAGE: MSI Engine: Failed to install the product.

Context: AVG product installation

How can I solve this problem? Please share your answers. Thanks a lot.

Error in Installing AVG 2011 edition

HOW TO FIX 0xC0070643 Error in AVG 2011.
Can’t remove old avg applications because of this error then do not fret here is the answer.
Log onto your computer in Safe Mode. Right click on Start button and select explore. Scroll down to Program files and open and then scroll down to AVG Folder. Double click on this folder. You may see other folders with AVG 8 for example. if you right click on it and see if this will delete. (I had AVG 8 9 AND 10 ON MINE) One of the folders it will not let you delete it. Once you have removed the folder/s that can be deleted open up the folder that cannot. Delete all that you can in this folder either by deleting one by one or in little chunks until you are only left with a handful. These are the ones that will not delete until you do the following. Open up the Task Manager by right clicking on the blue bar at the bottom and select Processes. Now end the AVG Processes and then go back into the folder and delete the rest of the files. Once done you can then delete the AVG Folder. Close this down and then restart your computer and you will be able to install AVG 2011.

Error in Installing AVG 2011 edition

To install to AVG 2011 from AVG 9.0 or AVG 8.5: Go to the AVG download page for the latest installation file. Click the name of the AVG edition you have purchased. Click the orange Download button. If you are asked, please save the file to your computer. We recommend you to save the file on your Desktop. Double-click the downloaded AVG installation file on your Desktop. Follow the installation wizard. When prompted, use the copy&paste method to enter your AVG License Number. You can find more detailed installation instructions (including screenshots) in the AVG Installation Guide. AVG 2011 should now be successfully installed on your computer. If the installation was not successful, please refer to FAQ 3260 for help with common issues. You can also contact AVG Customer Services for help installing AVG.
