All about breaking ntfs permissions? When trying to access a shared network computer it seems like there is an error because I cannot access and I told to contact the system administrator. I am having some problem to get some files from the other computer through networking. Can you help me regarding this matter?

You cannot access the computer because the Sys Administrator did not give any permission to access the computer. Even though you can see the computer on your network it does not mean that you can access that computer and get the files that you want. It is needed to be set-up first before you can access the computer.
Some necessary configurations are needed to be change so the other users can connect to the computer via network. for example you must turn on file and folder sharing so other users can access the files and folders that it want to share. Only folders that are shared are the ones you can see on your network, Sys Admin can choose which folders are to be shared and which are not.

You need to resolve this issue by understanding the basic issues normally we face in NTFS file permissions. It’s not about breaking the NTFS permissions but to control them. Windows XP/2000/2003/NT’s permissions are nearly the same. They are not hard to handle. Make sure to pass your files and folders through native firewall before trying to create a networking.
You may use cmd prompt and net command to see whether your computer is available on network or not. After enabling the computer’s native networking channels, you may set your files and folders for public sharing. Files and folders that are not publicly shared may never be seen on other computers on network.

Whether you are connected to the other computer directly via crossover cable or via LAN or local area network, your access is limited only to the shared folder. If the files you need on the other computer are on another folder that is not shared by default, you cannot access that folder until it is shared.
Every file or data you need to access on a different physical computer that is connected to your computer via network has to be shared. The easiest way to share contents over the network or within a local area network is to share a folder or folders. Everything you put on that folder will be shared to the network and will be accessed by anyone who has access to the network.
If you cannot copy certain files from another computer within your local area network, ask the network administrator to share those files and make them available over the network.
