I need a DesignCAD 3DMAX 2012 review

Hello.  I'm planning to purchase a CAD software that can generate 2D drawings from 3D models and has photorealistic rendering.  Can someone here give me a DesignCAD 3DMAX 2012 review with pros and cons?  I'm going to install it on a Windows Vista 64 bit system.  Thanks.

Hello,

There are a variety of CAD vendors but one which clearly stands out is AutoCAD. It is made by Autodesk and can be installed on your system. Market leadership assures that it will be familiar with a lot of CAD users and therefore easy to find someone you can employ to help you out. It also has a wider variety of functions than the other software available. Other vendors include: UGS, Dassault, PTC, Bentley Systems and Co Create. The downside of Autodesk is that it is more expensive than the other vendors.

Hi Donnaa,

 

DesignCAD 3DMAX 2012 is an awesome software for rendering 3D models. However, some users reported that it takes a while to get used to.

 

Pros:

• Cheaper than most CAD software
• Rich in features
  • Has a wide range of powerful 3D modeling primitives.
  • Professional 3D editing capabilities
  • Robust 3D visualization
• Uses “Layers” to better visualize 3D images.
• Compatible with AutoCAD’s DWG / DXF files
• Supports an extensive list of file formats

 

Cons:

• The Graphical User Interface is somewhat outdated
• Learning to use the application and using its features takes a long time.
• It has limited language support
• The manual does not cover much of the features and the issues of using the application.

 

To conclude this review, I would recommend this application if you are looking for a cheap CAD software that has impressive design functionalities. That is, if you are also willing to take time to learn how to use it professionally. I’m sure once you get used to it, it will work wonders for you.
