Hello to all,

I am getting the Google installer has stopped working popup every time I start my computer. The Internet Explorer also stops working occasionally and then restarts. The screenshot of the error is as follows:

I have tried various antivirus including Malware bytes and also found some viruses but still I can't get rid of popup. Has anyone else also encountered such a problem? Please let me know if you have any solution for this.

Hello.

It is not the matter of virus or antivirus. The Google installer which you are using has crashed or just not functioning. Download the latest version of the software and try to install. This should solve your problem.

If the problem still persist contact Google support for further help.

Greetings,

I may also suggest that if reinstalling the said program with a fresh installer incurs the same problem, you may consider restoring your system to the last state it was functioning without any problems.

Please check the following images for instructions on restoring your system:

If restoring your system doesn't do any good and all other programs doesn't work or was the same state just as before you had restored just now, make sure you at least uninstall all the toolbars in your ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS section and meticulously find all the toolbar program. if all above else fails, you may consider asking your local computer IT specialist to have a look at it, or sadly, had your system reformatted.

Please run RSIT.exe by random/random and post its logs.

Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from the following link and save it to your desktop.

  1. Double click on RSIT.exe to launch program.
  2. (Vista Users Only) Right click on theRSIT.exe icon and select"Run as Administrator" to run the program.
  3. Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  4. Your firewall may alert you that RSIT is requesting Internet access. Please allow it.
  5. Once it has finished,two logs will open: log.txt<– this will be maximized and info.txt<– this will be minimized. Both logs will be located at C:RSIT.exe.

You will need to uninstall Google toolbar and as well as any other Google applications and see if that helps.
  • On your computer, click the down arrow next to the Toolbar's wrench icon.
  • And then choose Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  • After that click Uninstall the Google Toolbar.
