I suggest using WinRAR. You can download it from here WinRAR.

You can download any of the following, depending on the OS you are currently using.

WinRAR x86 (32 bit) 5.00 beta 3

WinRAR x64 (64 bit) 5.00 beta 3

RAR 5.00 beta 3 for Linux

RAR 5.00 beta 3 for Linux x64

RAR 5.00 beta 3 for FreeBSD

RAR 5.00 beta 3 for Mac OS X

After downloading, open the file you downloaded. And install.

You're done!

I would suggest that you use the WinRAR application for your query. It is a data compression tool that provides a good algorithm in compressing data, also, you can view what's inside of compressed files, however, WinRAR is limited to these file extensions only:

1. RAR
2. ZIP
3. CAB
4. ARJ
5. LHZ
6. TAR
7. TAR.GZ
8. BZ2
9. TAR.BZ2
10. ACE
11. UUE
12. JAR
13. ISO
14. 7Z
15. Z

If you want to open data files with different file extension, you can search to source forge for best results.
