I want free software as an alternative to my WMP 12. I am basing my decision on something that can create a nice display album cover and should be very easy to use. Do you have any ideas? Please do not include iTunes or Winamp in your replies as I already tried it before. Thanks.

I am using the JetAudio version 9.0 and I really found it a fantastic Media Player than Windows Media Player. I never use the WMP. By using JetAudio you can forward your movie just pressing the arrow keys . You can also make your own album, picture quality is also good.

I have five good options for you instead of Windows Media Player to run your audio or video player.
Please check these players:
1. VLC Media Player,
2. GOM Media Player,
3. Zune,
4. MediaMonkey,
5. Audacity.
I will suggest you go for VLC Media Player which supports all video and audio files really well and you can adjust the video playback speed quite easily.
Follow these steps –
