Yahoo Messenger is not opening and giving me error

I find it difficult to identify the problem that had occurred as I launched the Yahoo Messenger.

Can you please tell me what might be the reason for its error?

I guess what I want is to simply launch it but then the error came about telling “The application has failed to start because of its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Please see the application event log or use the commend line xstrace.exe for more detail. Shall I retry launching it?

Any good tips how to do it?

C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengerYahooMessenger.exe

C:Program FilesVahoo!MessengerVahooMessenger.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

Hallo Dawn,

To resolve that error, you will need to probably look for help directly from Windows Live support. This should be the support staff who deal with Windows Live Messenger support specifically, since the problem is associated with the file  msnmsgr.exe.  In order to get more insight on how to deal with that issue, you will need to read the following post:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/error-the-application-has-failed-to-start-because/df019c0d-746e-42d0-ad68-465e18e3f3ef?auth=1

Next you will need to do the following:

  • You will need to scroll down to MICROSOFT.
  • And then you will need to choose Windows Live Solution Center and then  follow the directions there in order to get to the right place for help.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Carl
