Question on handling a new network

I have been assigned to handle a new network for a given time. There is a server with a NIC card installed on it and statically assigned on the 172.16.x.x subnet of the same network. The server will be used as a Digital Video Recorder where it is placed in a hotel that has a CCTV. It had a DVR recording software installed as well. When I try to use the software, I can’t see any feeds and then when I try to browse any camera, the server has no latency. The connection is not normal which will waste my time. I know that more ideas will be needed and to be analyzed first. So please help me. I will reply at my best and any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Helloo Jerry,

First try to update the software if its possible it may be a small issue and the update will solve it, if not solve it try check your software or reinstall it again check if there is any change has been made. Also try to make sure to update Directx 9.0 or upgrade ActiveX control may this will solve the problem and please make me know if its help or we can try something else. Hope it works with you.

Hi Jerry,

Please check first if the cameras are proper open and connected to the remote server. Are you using wireless camera? or this are connected via wire.

Each camera should have a static or dynamic IP address assigned to it. I will suggestion for a first simple test to handle only one camera, to see if that’s working and then to proceed with the remaining ones.

What software program do you use? Please investigate the software’s user guide, especially on the FAQ section. You can see there some responses that could help you fixing your problem.
