Acdsee 8 white screen only on Windows 8

I use ACDSee 8 for managing and enhancing RAW and JPEG files with batch processing in Windows XP.  I am now on Windows 8 and reinstalled the program.  When I launch the program, all I see now is a white screen.  I tried uninstalling and installing but with the same results.  What gives?

Hi there

I read your question and I understood the problem. But I’m afraid that there is no solution for overcome this problem since windows is a touch based OS and ACDSee 8 version is not compatible for windows 8. But you can try the latest version of ACDSee Repair in order to solve this problem.

Hi Caroline J Tritt ,

 

Before installing a software on your PC it is a must for you to check first the system requirements for that specific software version. Please find below the system requirements for ACDSee 8.0

 

Operating System: Windows XP, 98, Windows ME or Windows 2000

Recommended internet explorer is 6.0.0.

At least Pentium III Intel, 500MHz

RAM capacity 128MB and disk at least 100MB free

Resolution 1024×768

 

So this is a compatibility issue. You have to downgrade the Windows Operating System, to one of the above list, or buy the compatible version of ACDSee with Windows 8.

One reason for that is when the program no longer supports the operating system. If you have Windows XP previously and ACDsee works perfectly on that operating system, you need to check if ACDsee 8 also supports Windows 8. You need to check the system requirements again and make sure your computer meets those requirements. ACDsee 8 supports Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows 8 (64-bit only).

It requires 2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent AMD Athlon 64 or faster processor, 2 GB RAM, Microsoft DirectX 10-compatible video card with 512 MB video RAM, 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution, and 2 GB free space. Since you have Microsoft Windows 8, make sure you are using 64-bit version. ACDsee 8 will not run on 32-bit Microsoft Windows 8.

Another solution is to shift to Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
