My laptop cannot detect my hard disk drive after installation

The hard disk drive of my recently assembled computer does not appear on the installation screen even though it does appear on the basic input output system.

The machine runs with windows 7 ultimate 64-bit package and I purchased this since I wanted to make optimum utilization of my random access memory. Some information I obtained about my hard disk drive which is a 2 terabyte Seagate Barracuda XT.

The information seemed to explain that the drivers are auto-fixed on the HDD though I can’t be sure about this.

By the way I only own a laptop currently and so I do not possess any computer which I could use to configure, divide or download tools to scan the drive. My MB’s make is Biostar T268A+ affixed with the right cords.

I also confirmed that the hard disk drive makes transfers at the rate of six gigabytes per second SATA-1.

I will very much appreciate your help and am willing to provide more information.

Hi Edward Burden,

I think the best thing that you can do to solve your solution regarding the detection of your hard disk to your laptop is that you should go to the BIOS and log into it.  

Look for the set up and replace the setting of the disk controller starting from AHCI up to IDE or up to the compatibility form and have it into windows.

 I am assuring you it's worth trying.

Hi,

You can try one of the below option in sorting out your issue.

1. Using Partition Wizard software which is a freeware. Even you may try third party software if you like. It will be able to detect your already installed hard drivers. Then you can partition it giving an appropriate naming. Afterword you will be able to detect it in your installation screen as well as BIOS.

2. Another option is to create a shortcut to the desktop for quick access of the not showing hard drive.

In Finder Go > Go to lists > Select the hard drive >Then select File > Make Alise

3. Also try under the Disk Utility clicking the drive and verify disk this will might direct you to repair option.

Also do unmount and remount several times in Disk Utility which will make your drive to come online.
