Headphone jacks that don’t work in Pavilion dv6

Want your suggestions on what to do for headphone jacks that don’t seem to work in Pavilion dv6 that I just bought. A friend told me that this is probably because of a missing driver because everything seems okay, even the setting. I went to Future Shop for a replacement but sad to say, the similar unit was out of stock already.

Headphone jacks that don’t work in Pavilion dv6

Hallo Bondee,

Does the computer's speakers work properly when you play say music on the computer? If it does then we rule out the possibility that the sound box may be having problems.

The possible cause could  therefore be missing drivers for the headphones and therefore you will need to install them from the device manager. Once you are in the device manager, right click on the sound drivers and then click update drivers and then choose the option for updating the drivers online.

Once the update is done restart the computer and see if the headphones work properly.

Dear Bondee,

While downloading Pavilion Dv6 you might have missed to install an audio driver because of which the headphone jacks a little. You can download this audio driver online.

Please follow these steps:

1. Visit this link.

2. Enter your Operating System,

3. Click Next,

4, Select the audio driver from the given list,

5. Click on Download button and let download gets completed,

6. Listen your music again and check if headphone jacks.

I think it shall resolve your issue.
