How e-mails work in exchange server?

Hi!

We are experiencing a little problem with how the email works in our computers. We are currently running Windows 2003 SBS SP2 and we are hosting our own exchange server of version 6.5; build 7638.2 SP2.

The problem is there are times when an e-mail sends to a different account even after we have entered the correct intended receiver.

The incoming mail doesn’t show up in the log and we couldn’t track it using the message tracking Centre either.

We have already tried turning off all filters but the same thing happens.  Please help, thank you.

How e-mails work in exchange server?

Hello Ruth Mae,

MS Server supports a lot of features like e-mail and data storage,. To be able to send or receive message through the server, you need to create an account and set up MS exchange server. All the email accounts should be configured and permitted depending on the who is assigned or designated on how to access the server.

How e-mails work in exchange server?

Hello Ruth Mae,

To solve this problem, at first you need to get a new IP address for your outbound mail server ASAP. Realign the reverse dns for the IP address.

Don’t send mail directly from exchange to the internet. You can put a secondary mail gateway to better manage your outbound emails.

You may solve this fully by enabling SMTP logging on the SMTP virtual server in exchange.
