Windows 8 Setup has encountered a critical error

Hello,

Recently, I installed the latest version of avast antivirus on my PC using Windows 8 Operating System but the following error appeared to uninstall this app because it is not compatible with Windows 8 OS.

I tried to manually uninstall this app but the error still displayed.

Have any idea about this problem?

I extremely need your help.

Windows 8 Setup has encountered a critical error

Download and install ASW Cleaner from Avast official website.

This tool is helpful in case if you fail to remove Avast antivirus from your desktop using the standard windows uninstallation utility. 

Don't hesitate to ask if the problem still persists.

Unfortunately, it seems that Avast is not compatible with Windows 8. Even though if you search online, you will see that Avast is said to be compatible actually it is not.

The only solution in this case is to uninstall the Avast antivirus and install another Antivirus software.

In order for you to uninstall Avast, please access the link I have provided you with, which will guide you through the uninstall process.

Windows 8 Setup has encountered a critical error

If you receive this error when installing Avast antivirus on Windows 8 then you are probably installing a version that is still not compatible with Microsoft Windows 8. The latest version at the moment supports Windows 8. To make sure you are installing the compatible version for your computer, download the latest Avast Free Antivirus.

The latest version at the moment supports Windows XP Service Pack 3 (32-bit only), Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit. It requires Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent AMD Athlon 64 or faster processor, 256 MB RAM, 2 GB free space, 800 x 600 pixels minimum screen resolution, and internet connection.
