T-mobile’s myTouch & myTouch Q

I want to buy a Smartphone but I don't know about it well. Recently I heard about T-mobile's myTouch and myTouch Q Smartphones. Can I choose it for my first use of Smartphone? If yes, why can’t another brand?

T-mobile’s myTouch & myTouch Q

Of course you can.

Those two phones are very similar but also with some differences and I'd rather say that they complete each other. Let's try to compare them head to head and see which one is better for you.

– Obviously MyTouch Q has an excellent physical keyboard, which is quite handy if you're a fan of texting, but the non-Q version has a larger display, myTouch Q has a 3.5" 320×480 HVGA TFT LCD display, myTouch has a 3.8" 480×800 WVGA AMOLED display, which is quite impressive and shows much better graphics quality and you'll be able to see a lot more content while browsing on the internet)

– The Q-version is thicker and heavier than the non-Q version

– They both have a only 5 megapixel camera, advantage is that myTouch has a front-facing camera so you'll be able to make video chats, while the Q-version does not, but comes with a flash, which doesn't change a thing considering they don't have a good camera

– They both run on  Android 2.3.4 "Gingerbread" and both have 1Ghz processor with 512MB RAM, but for some reason the non-Q version seems to performs better on benchmarks, while the Q-version lags quite a bit.

So if you're still wondering, I'd strongly recommend the myTouch (non-Q version) of the series

T-mobile’s myTouch & myTouch Q

It is both a good choice for smartphones as T-Mobile MyTouch Q has a 4G data and a physical keyboard plus the entry price of $50 is kind of appealing. My Touch and My Touch Q from LG are both intuitive and very easy to use and easy to set up and would be a perfect time for moving into smartphones.

T-mobile’s myTouch & myTouch Q

There is a much newer version of the T-Mobile myTouch Q Smartphone, the T-Mobile myTouch Q 2. The T-Mobile myTouch Q 2 is a 3G Smartphone operating on 2G and 3G network bands using GSM and HSPA technologies. It was unveiled and released on August 2012 measuring 124.8 x 63.9 x 14.3 millimeters and weighing 185 grams. It has QWERTY keyboard and uses mini-SIM card.

It has capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 480 x 800 pixels screen resolution. It supports multi-touch and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered by Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon S2 chipset, 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor, and Adreno 205 GPU. It supports microSD expandable up to 32 GB. It runs on 1 GB RAM with 4 GB internal storage.

The primary camera supports 5 megapixels with LED flash and autofocus featuring geo-tagging. It supports 720p video recording at 30 fps. It has a secondary VGA camera. It has 3.5-millimeter jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA and hotspot support, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support, and microUSB 2.0. It doesn’t have FM radio. It has built-in accelerometer, proximity, and compass sensors.

The pre-installed web browser supports HTML5 with Adobe Flash support. Java is supported via Java MIDP emulator. It runs on removable Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery with standby time up to 185 hours and talk time up to 6 hours. It is available in black and white colors.
