Can I swipe my Celeron processor with the genuine Intel processor?

I have a processor of Celeron 2.8 and I want to convert it into Genuine Intel.

Will is possible if I just out his Celeron processor form tie computer and put the other Original Intel processor in the at place? 

Or whether there is other process through which I scan change the processor.

Please if you know all the other processor through which processor can be changed then please contact me or reply to this post.

Hi,

What you're trying to do depends on the socket type supported by both your processors. Processors support a certain socket type on the motherboard so that the pins would be connected correctly.

If both of your processors are of the same socket type, you need to check if your motherboard supports the processor that you'd like to use (most likely it will as motherboards tend to support all the processors in a  certain processor group or socket type).

If these are met by your system, then you should be able to replace your Celeron CPU with an Intel (Pentium) CPU.

The above reply is correct, it still depends on the socket type of the processor you have.

Here are some examples of CPU sockets or CPU slots and an idea on how you can determine its socket type:

This is a Socket 370 processor socket, a ZIF type PGA socket.

 

This is a Socket A processor socket, also known as Socket 462.

Since you have a Celeron 2.8 GHz, it falls on Socket 478 type, 400 FSB. You can still replace your current processor with any Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 processor. To be sure of the processor’s Socket type, you need to open your CPU case and remove the processor itself from the processor socket board.

Be sure to completely unplug your computer before doing this.
