Can file recovery pro get the job done?

I recently launched my Avast antivirus version 7.0 1474.  It detected a Win32 MBRoot-J Trojan virus which I deleted.  Some of my important files also got deleted during the process.  I need to recover lost and deleted files.  Would File Recovery Pro do the trick?
