Sound card is not workng in my HP sysytem?

Hi guys,

I have windows 7 PC from Acer brand and a sound card in it though I don't know what sound card it is Nvidia or any other one may be but my PC shows sound card error and also it won't plays sound while playing GTA game though sound is enabled. Please help me on this.

Hello,

Sound card is the processor that calculates and makes the sound part of the whole machine and makes the experience better. If you’re having issue with your sound, there might be the driver corruption or other system issue. Hardware issue will also cause the same trouble.

First, check the sound driver whether it’s alright or not. From Start menu, type “device manager” >> hit Enter. Expand the “Sound, video and game controllers”. You’ll find your sound driver there. Same task could be done with “dxdiag.exe” if you’ve installed DirectX on your system.

After checking the sound driver, go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver. Before installing the latest driver, make sure that the older driver is uninstalled first. Download HP drivers.

If still no solution, you should contact with a PC engineer for checking any hardware issue.

If your system is playing all the files but when you play GTA sound card error is shown, then it`s not the fault of your sound card, but it is because GTA is unable to access to the sound files. So it`s not a big problem all you have to do is search for the ""dxdiag"" file and run it. After that you will be able to hear the sound while playing GTA.
