How to fix modem problems?please help

I guess the problem is not with your handset but with the modem connected to your PC. First, try restarting your computer then see if your computer can connect to the internet. Don’t connect your phone yet to your computer. If this doesn’t work, uninstall your modem again. Make sure your modem is connected to your computer.

Click Start, Control Panel, Printers and Other Hardware, and then select “Phone and Modem Options”. Select Modems tab. This tab lists all the modems used by the computer. If your modem is listed but it has the “Not present” status though the modem is connected then your computer can’t detect it. Select your modem from the list then click Remove and then OK. See image.

Disconnect your modem from the computer then restart the machine. After booting, connect the modem again to the computer then see if it can be detected. If the modem connects to a USB port, try using other ports if the first port fails to detect. Once detected, let the computer install it and then connect it to the internet.

After this, always use the same port for the modem when connecting to the internet.
