An Error during installation of Cyberlink Youcam

I cannot install Cyberlink Youcam in my laptop and get the error message "Youcam requires a component of Microsoft Windows Media Player to function properly" my OS is Vista, What should I do?

Hi Nardwoxu.

There's no other solution to your problem than to do as the error message says.  Which is to installed Windows Media Player 11 or higher.  What makes your problem strange however is that Windows Vista already comes with Windows Media Player 11.  something got corrupted most likely so you should download Media Player and reinstall it.

Another possible problem is that Windows Media Player is disabled in your system.

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off.   When you see the "Windows Features" window, scroll down and look for and expand "Media Features".  The checkbox beside "Windows Media Player" should have a check mark.  If it doesn't then click on it to enable Media Player.

Everything Has Solution and this error has a simple solution just follow these steps:

First you should install Windows Media Player Version 11.0 or higher

Second you need to go to Control Panel and then Programs and then Programs and Features and then Turn Windows Features on or off and in Windows Features find Media Features and after that Select Windows Media Player and Finally Click Ok

An Error during installation of Cyberlink Youcam

Hi,

You must install Microsoft Windows Media because there are extension which is required for running your youcam. First install the windows media then install your youcam. And when you finished installing restart your computer or laptop. Hope it will give you an answer to your question.
