Which resolution would produce the fastest frame rate?

Hi,

I'm playing Need for Speed Most Wanted, and I want to maximize the resolution rate that I believe would make the game move faster or the car much faster.

I have the minimum game requirements for my computer, running on Windows XP.

I'm just wondering which resolution would produce the fastest frame rate?

Which resolution would produce the fastest frame rate?

It would help if you could provide some details on what you mean by "minimum requirements" such as motherboard make and model, processor, video card, CRT or LCD monitor, monitor size, etc. so I could provide a more helpful answer.

Generally, the lowest resolution provides the highest frame rate.  This is why if you go to the Basic settings of video for Need for Speed Most Wanted the lowest setting is at 640×480.  However, if you have an LCD monitor and 640×480 is not its native resolution, then the graphics will not be as good.  This isn't an issue with CRT monitors though.

If your concern is frame rate, then you can go to Advanced Settings, set the resolution to 800×600 or 1024×768 and just adjust the other details to minimum to get a nice compromise between screen resolution and frame rate. Hope this helps.

The Resolution Rate of a game depends entirely to the system hardware installed in you personal computer. You didn't mention it from the post you created so I improvised a solution for general application purposes. If you are a high speed gamer, it is necessary to boost your system up.

Like the highest video card you can add, the processor, the memory and the motherboard. And with these components in one box, you extremely need for additional ventilation materials, few extra fans will do. And among others, an extra supply of power because the higher Video Card the higher power it will need to function.

But if ever you don’t have the luxury of all these components, you should weigh things up. The higher the Resolution Rate the Slower your system will be and the other way around.
