I had a problem before, where the technicians need to remove all security in my Apple Leopard. But after they resolved the problem, they did not tell me any steps to be taken, so that I can try and resolve the problem on my own in the future.
I had a latency problem in my computer before and it responds very slow until it came to a point where I cannot navigate my computer anymore. So turning the firewall is what they initially did.
Where do I find to disable it?
How do I turn off Firewall in Mac
Firewall is used to restrict any entering viruses that might damage your operating system.

To disable the firewall go to “Apple” main menu options then choose “System Preferences” once the window screen of System Preferences displayed, choose “Security” you’ll found it in the “View’ Options.

Now press the “Firewall” icon. You’ll see some of the “Radio” tabs or buttons then choose one of these:

“Set access for specific services and application”

Blocking all entering connections, but will permit you toad trusted sites and applications.

“Allow only essential services”

This makes the firewall errorless from viruses

“Allowing all incoming connections”

This will shut off the firewall.
