VLC media player damages speakers. Is this true?

Most of the laptop seller warns about using VLC player in windows, the reason given by them is that it destroys speakers of the system.
Is this true?
If yes, then Please suggest an alternative for VLC, which is easy to use like VLC.

VLC media player damages speakers. Is this true?

The fact that VLC media player damages the speakers is in fact caused by the user. VLC media player has a volume rocker that can go up to 200%, instead of the standard 100%. This method is a sound amplification technique used for bigger sound systems, so that you can boost your sound without touching the amplifier.

Also, it's not recommended to use over 100%. The full percentage represents the normal amplification value, or the nominal value to be more exact. Everything over 100% is forced on the speakers and might damage the membrane, destroying them.

I would suggest you use VLC media player, but as i stated before, do not use more than 100% while adjusting your volume.

Or, instead you could use one of these alternatives:

1. Wondershare Player – really simple and clean media player for standard movie viewing.

2. SMPlayer – designed with a little more bang, it features an equalizer and an editable playlist.

Whatever you want to choose, they are both a good option for media players.
