Poor video quality while using Skype

Hi ,

I have a few issues with Skype. During video call, the video quality is good on my computer, but the receiver not getting a good quality video. I checked my Skype settings as it is showing your internet connection is slow. But my internet connection is very fast. I Tested using speed test using some of the websites.Is this a problem at my end or receiver? Is this related to internet connection problem or some other reasons? I could not find out anything . Anybody encountered the same issue before? Please give me some suggestions regarding this. Thanks.

Poor video quality while using Skype

Hello Eric,

Based on your issue I believe that your internet download speed is very good and upload speed is bad. Did you check your upload speed too while you tested using websites. Download speed is related to receiving video and upload speed is related to sending video.

Try to run a ping test to see the issue with the network. Note down the IP of the person to whom you want to connect using Skype. 

Open <<Command Prompt>> (Use WIN + R key, type cmd and press enter), then type ping << IP ADDRESS >>

If Ping is not happening properly or Ping is too high, your network might have the issue..!!
