I am good at excel but I want to know advanced excel skills that everybody wants to learn in order to compete with other Microsoft excel professionals in the job market

Hi Maria Trienity,

In order to be an expert in Excel, you need to fulfill as many skills in Excel as possible.

Here I list some:

You must be good in formula.  Advanced excel user know which case use which formula and how to use it, debug error and fix it

Some formulas are sumif, sumproduct, index, match

You must be good in table, formatting and conditional formatting. Not only format table, advanced excel user has to combine conditional formatting with formulas to fulfill any condition.

You must be good in pivot table and pivot reporting. Advanced excel user should know all features in pivot such as grouping, calculation and summary by many kind of units.

You must be good in VBA and macro. Advanced excel user should know how to create and use macro, how to code by VBA.

Those are some fields in excel you have to know if you want to be an expert in excel

Where we talk about advanced excel skills, you must know all key functions used in excel as, key functions save time of work.

The most important excel skills are;

1. Auto Filters

2. Pivot Tables

You must also know about important short keys;

a) Navigation Keys – Moving faster through your Workbook.

b) Ctrl + End – Moves to the last cell in the used area of the workbook.

c) Ctrl + Right Arrow – Moves to the right-most region of data.

d) Ctrl + Left Arrow – Moves to the left-most region of data.

e) Ctrl + Up Arrow – Moves to the top region of data.
