How does Yahoo points system work?

Can anyone explain this in detail please.

Who checks them and who gives points to what and the levels if any?

What's the benefit to us with the points?

Hello Meows,

To encourage users to contribute positively to the Yahoo Answer website, Yahoo has introduced a Point System. There are also levels whis give more access to the site. They have no real world value and only to indicate how active you are on the site.

Your point will be 0 at the starting. When you answer the question posted by another user, you will get 100 points and enter level 1. You will be in level 1 till you acquire 249 points. In the 1st level, you will be able to ask 5 questions, answer 20 questions, post 10 comments, give 10 starts and give 25 votes per day. The limits change for each level.

You will loss 5 points for posting a question and gain 3 points for choosing the best answer for your question. Visit the above web link for detailed information.

Hi,

Yahoo points were given by the yahoo to the members of "answer.yahoo.com" for participating on their website. Here are some ways to earn a yahoo points:

  • login in to yahoo answer daily = 1 point
  • choosing a best answer = 3 points
  • Answering a question = 2 points
  • voting for any answer = 1 point
  • Receiving a thumbs up on the answer that you made = 1 point for each thumbs up (up to 50 thumbs up only daily)
  • when your answer were chosen to be the Best Answer = 10 points

And here are some ways that you may lose a point:

  • Asking a question = -5 points
  • Deleting some answers = -2 points

Yahoo is the one responsible in giving points. There's also a level according to the points you earned. Here are the levels for each point you earned and its privilege:

Level 1 (1 – 249 points)

  • can post 5 questions daily
  • can answer 20 questions daily
  • can leave 10 comments daily
  • can give 10 stars daily
  • cannot rate
  • can vote for 25 Best answers Daily
  • can earn 61 points daily

Level 2 ( 250 – 999 points)

  • can post 10 questions daily

  • will be able to rate
  • can vote for 75 Best answers daily
  • can earn 161 points daily

Level 4 (2500 – 4999 points)

  • can post 20 question daily
  • can answer 80 questions daily

  • can give 100 stars daily
  • can rate answer

Level 5 ( 5000 – 9999 points)

  • can post unlimited questions daily

The higher the points the higher level you are. There are no corresponding reward for points that you earned. It was all for satisfaction for helping others on their problem.
