SplitCam fails to install driver and open with an error message

Hello,

I have a problem with my SplitCam. I get an error when I try to open SplitCam which says there is an error with the installation of driver and that I must restart the computer and try again. Restarting it didn’t help. I have tried uninstalling and installing SplitCam a couple of times on my laptop. The installation goes smoothly every time. But when I try to open, I always get this error. What could be causing the trouble? I use windows vista on my laptop. Can anyone help me with this problem? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the fix.

Since I’m not sure if you are using the latest version, it would greatly help if you will upgrade. Download the latest version from SplitCam 6.6.4.1. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 both x86 and x64. Also, make sure when using this software your computer has plenty of RAM available because it requires 2 GB RAM which is kind of big for just a webcam application.

But I think that amount is only required if you are using the application simultaneously on different chat clients like Yahoo! Messenger, Skype, MSN, and others. Uninstall the old version from your computer then click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK.

Check “Temporary files”, click OK, and wait until it is finished then restart your computer. Install the latest version provided above and see if it works. In case you still have a problem installing the driver, run the installer as administrator. Right-click on the installer file “SplitCamSetup.exe” and select Properties.

Select Compatibility tab. Under Privilege Level, check “Run this program as an administrator” and click OK. After that, double-click “SplitCamSetup.exe” to start the installation and see if it works.
