Hi expert friends,

I am not able to use the Serato scratch live for real-time control of Ableton Live; it is not synced to a deck and I am not able to check the tracks. Here I am able to save the version but not able to run in 64-bit version. Is it a problem with the Application? 64-bit cannot support the Ableton Live 8? Please help me. Your help would be great.

The 64-bit version of Ableton Live 8 cannot run on this computer because the processor does not support certain required features (CMPXCHG16B instruction)

If x64 Ableton Live 8 is saying that there is something wrong with your processor that’s why it can’t run then you can use the x86 version of Ableton Live 8. If you have a 64-bit Microsoft Windows, there is actually no problem whether you use the x86 version of Ableton Live or the x64 because x64 Microsoft Windows fully supports x86 applications so there is no need to restrict yourself to the 64-bit version.

If you have the x64 version of Ableton Live 8, it requires x64 Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. For the x86 Ableton Live 8, it works on Windows XP [Home or Professional], Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Windows 8 is not yet supported on x86. Also, if you are using x64 Ableton Live 8, you need to have a minimum of 8 GB RAM to run it while the x86 edition can be used on at least 2 GB.

Your best option on using Ableton Live 8 is to use the x86 edition because it doesn’t require high resources and specifications and can even be used on 2 GHz Pentium 4 processor. Don’t forget to install QuickTime 7 or higher. If you don’t have it yet, download it from QuickTime 7.7.5 Download.
