Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some tips in a very easy-to-understand manner on how to defrag computer animation? My operating system is a Windows XP Home Edition. Thanks in advance.

Simple steps to defrag computer animation

 

This task may take a while. Follow the following steps to defragment your computer.

·         Choose start > Control Panel > System and security

·         Click Defragment your drive.

·         Click the Analyze disk button. (A drive with 15 percent or more fragmentation requires defragmentation).

·         After completing analysis, click defragment disk button.

·         When the progress is 100 percent, choose close.

Simple steps to defrag computer animation

Hello Alfred,

 

It is best not to use your computer during this procedure, so think about starting it at night and leaving your pc idle.

1.  Click on start menu
2. type defrag in the searchbar
3. select Disk Defragmenter
4. chose the disk you want to defrag
5. hit Defragment Disk

Simple steps to defrag computer animation

 

From within Microsoft Windows XP and newer versions, click the "Start" menu. Click in succession "All Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools" and "Disk Defragmenter." Select the letter of the drive you want to defragment; the letter will usually be "C" for the hard drive and other letters such as A, D and E for floppy disks and removable storage devices such as CD-ROMs and USB flash drives.

 

After you've selected the letter of the drive you want to defragment, the defragmenter program will analyze the hard disk for fragmented files. Even though the disk defragment utility might potentially say that the disk doesn't need to be defragmented, you should complete the process anyway. 

Maintenance

The frequency with which you will need to defragment the computer will vary depending on how many files are on the computer, the types of files they are and how often the computer is used. Slow file access time is often the best indication that a hard drive or other disk needs to be defragment.
