Hi!

When I tried to surf the site Google.com, an error displayed over the page:

Error 401 (net::ERR_CACHE_READ_FAILURE) : unknown error

This webpage is not available.

The webpage at https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl might be temporarily down or it may

have moved permanently to a new web address.

Chrome temporarily saves files to speed up loading web pages and when Chrome isn’t shut down properly, these files are corrupted resulting in this error I. E cache read failure. Error 401 refers to security issues like authentication and authorization error, and here it shows unauthorization to fetch data from cache memory. This error can also be found, when a web page is down or permanently moved. To solve this error you need to reload the page, and to prevent it in the future, shut down Chrome properly.

It is a very simple browser problem. It might be also possible that when you start browsing again, the message disappears, and after browsing few websites, it appears again. The reason is browser cache. The browser is trying to access the page you requested from its cache, but is unable to do that. Try clearing the cache of the browser. Your snapshot shows you are using Google Chrome. So, simply follow these steps:

1. Open Google Chrome.

2. Clock Setting icon in the upper right corner.

3. Go to tools.

4. Click “clear browsing data”.

5. Make the changes according to screenshot attached.

6. Restart browser.

Go to tools-Click clear browsing data

Because beta releases are meant for bug discoveries, expect the program to be unstable. If you installed a beta version of the Google Chrome browser, uninstall it and download the latest Chrome for Desktop.

The latest Chrome browser supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. It requires Intel Pentium 4 or faster processor with SSE2 support. For servers, it supports Windows Server 2008 R2 and higher. On the other hand, if you want to continue using the beta version, just uninstall and reinstall it to fix the corrupt cache data. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it.

Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select Google Chrome from the list and click “Uninstall.” Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftovers. Delete everything the program finds on your computer to remove everything the program created on your machine.

After this, close Revo then open your web browser and download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system.
