Hi techyv,

Who created Starcraft pixel characters?

I want to be aware and study the history of Starcraft games and more.

I am an online and offline gamer and dreaming to be a game developer someday using cool programming languages.

To all gamers out there come and share it with me.

Hoping for your help.

Hi Virginia,

Please see below details about the Starcraft Pixel Character development and a little history –

1. Development – The Starcraft game was the first game in this series, developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The characters and game were assembled by the Blizzard Entertainment development team, led by Lead Programmer Bob Fitch. The development started in 1995 and the game was first released in 1996.

2. Version Upgrades – The first version was not well received by the gamers and was criticized by many people. So a newer version was released in 1997. Though the response was better, the game was still facing technical difficulties and was continually undergoing the development and version upgrades.

3. Game Release – In 1998, the game was released for Windows. After around a year, Mac OS version was also released in 1999.

Hope you find this useful and informative.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks.

The game “StarCraft” is a military science fiction media franchise created by James Phinney and Chris Metzen and owned by Blizzard Entertainment.

The series is set in the beginning of the 26th century and centers on a galactic struggle for supremacy among four species: the adaptable and mobile “Terrans”, the ever-evolving insectoid “Zerg”, the powerfully enigmatic “Protoss”, and the “god-like” “Xel’Naga” creator race; in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy known as “Koprulu Sector”.

In 1995, Blizzard Entertainment began the planning for StarCraft with a development team led by Phinney and Metzen. The StarCraft game debuted at E3 1996 and used a modified Warcraft II game engine. It also marked the creation of the film department of Blizzard Entertainment. It introduced high quality cinematics vital to the storyline of the series.

As of April 19, 2017, “StarCraft” and its “Brood War” expansion can be downloaded and played for free from the Blizzard website.
