What is defacement tool and how it protects?

I have learned intruders attack websites and replace files with their own.

How they do so?

I don’t want to learn illegal methods but need a basic understanding about it.

Then how defacement tool prevents them?

Please suggest me.

What is defacement tool and how it protects?

Hello

Every website must be saved on the server (a computer which is available to anyone).

Every server (for common websites) has a static IP address so attacker can find the exact location of the server. Then, to run website you must have ports which let you access your website and do something with it.

Attackers use those ports on the wrong way so then sneak into your server and manipulate your data. Defacement tools guard those ports and if someone tries to use them on wrong way those tools track down the attacker.
