Hi,

When I start my computer, from the time it starts to the time I can start to use it, it  takes over 15 minutes.   svchost.exe is using nearly 100% all the time. It is netsvcs group that is using the CPU.

I have done a virus scan but I can't find any virus.  Is this normal in Windows 7 or can there be any problem ?

This may happen due to high usage of the CPU by svchost.exe. Sometimes it may be doing “Automatic Updates” in your computer. You can see this through Task Manager > Processes.

Then you can control if there are any downloads happening. If there are any unnecessary services running on your PC, you can disable these services through Start menu > Search > type services.msc

Then you can see a dialog box called ‘Distributed Link Tracking Client Properties’

Select the services, which you like to disable;

Select ‘Disabled’ in ‘Start type’;

Sometimes this problem might happen due to a virus or a Malware issue. Then you have to use an automatic Spyware removal application certified by Microsoft to sort out this problem.

Thanks

Mark
