Hi everyone,

My question is very important for me so any kind of help will be highly appreciated.

I have an upcoming project and I wonder if simulating Mobile IP in GNS3 ad hoc networks is possible. I know that there are other simulators like OPNET and NS2 but I want to do something more practical. I also want to include some cisco devices in it. Kindly give me some advices or suggestions regarding this matter. Thanks!

Hello Harry,

You can use some network simulation software to simulate the mobile IP in GNS3 ad hoc networks. Some of the best network simulation software include the cisco network simulator called the NetSim version 8.0. Another program is the network simulator-ns-2.

With the network simulator software installed, you will be able to model the behavior of a network whereby you will be able to calculate the interaction between different entities that are available on the network which include the routers, data links and the packets being transmitted on the network, by use of mathematical formulas. You can also simulate by capturing and playing back observations that are from the results on the network.
