Hi all,

Recently I bought a new Toshiba Encore WT8-A32 8-Inch 32 GB Tablet with OS Windows 8.1. This tablet is amazing.

But recently I started getting restart/shutdown problems with it. When I press the Windows button, it is vibrating, but the screen is not at all responding. Even for If I shut down it vibrates, but nothing happens. When I press the power button for a few seconds, then only it will shut down.

Anybody experienced this type problem before? Your input and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance and regards.

I think, the device may be bricked, but do not worry here is what you can do, Leave the device on all night Unplugged. The battery will eventually run out. The device will then shut off. If its not bricked then you will be able to plug it in and start it up tomorrow. it will either start working normally.

If this is happening with your tablet, turn off your tablet and remove the battery for about 10 to 20 seconds. Do this only if you know how to remove the battery. After this, connect the battery back and start the tablet. See if this works. If this doesn’t work or you don’t know how to remove the battery, the next option is to factory reset your device.

On your tablet, swipe in from the right edge of the screen and select “Settings”, “Change PC settings”, “Update and recovery”, and then “Recovery”. Under “Remove everything and reinstall Windows”, tap “Get started”. Follow the instructions. See if this works. Note: before doing a factory reset, backup all your data to your memory card and then remove the memory card from the tablet.

Factory resetting the device will delete all your documents, pictures, settings, accounts, and any other data.
