Hello experts,

I have been using the LAME hydrogenaudio mp3 encorder. I do not know if it is crushed or not because I randomly throws up error messages. Sometimes on start up, working with frames, or during playback.

I have attached the error image below. I have installed Windows Vista on my computer. Does anyone have any idea about this work?

Error message:

Playlist files could not be written (bad allocation).

If you choose ‘cancel’, your playlists will be lost.

If you have an operating system higher than Windows XP then that’s a compatibility problem. Though LAME is a multiplatform supporting Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux / BSD, for Microsoft Windows, it only supports Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. Later than that will surely cause problems like the one you are having.

LAME is a recursive acronym that stands for “LAME Ain't an MP3 Encoder”. It is a free program codec used to encode or compress audio to the lossy MP3 format. It is also the Hydrogenaudio suggested MP3 encoder. Hydrogenaudio is an internet community which is designed to be a focal or central point for information associated to all aspects of audio technology.

Visit Hydrogenaudio Internet Community to know more about it. If you have an incompatible operating system, try installing any of the mentioned above or just select Windows XP. You can also download the installer again from Download LAME Bundles. Make sure to select the correct version of the download because there are some designed for Microsoft Windows 64-bit.
