Problem with NI-FBUS VC2008MSMS x96 installation

I am having problems installing NI VC2008MSMs x96 because of an error message:

Error:  Error

The NI VC2008MSMs x96 installation has failed with the following error.

The Windows installation Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in Safe mode or if the Windows installer is not correctly installed.

Contact your support personnel assistance.

Continue?

Did I miss something prior to its installation?

How can I resolve this error?

Any help would do.

Problem with NI-FBUS VC2008MSMS x96 installation

This is usually the problem when installing something and the installer requires Microsoft Windows Installer on the system. I usually get this same error before whenever I install something on my machine and I am only using Windows XP Service Pack 2 then. When I upgraded my system to Service Pack 3 the need to install Microsoft Windows Installer was gone.

Since you did not mention in your post the version of Windows that is running on your machine just try visiting Microsoft’s web site and download Microsoft Windows Installer for your Windows’ version. I’m sure installing this one will fix the problem.
